Avatar Crochet : Momo

Hello!

I am back with another pattern. This was made as a gift for a friend of mine who I hope will find this to be a great surprise. As I was making it, I thought it would be nice tonote down the pattern and post it here.

Apologies, some of the photos are quite yellow as they were taken at night and the last photo I got of him isn't the best as it was taken with a lot of junk in the background but it's the best finished photo I have of him. The first few photos he also has wonky eyes coz I kind of rushed it. But I fixed that up for the later photos...as I couldn't stand it.

This makes a plush from DK weight yarn that is 35 cm (just under 14 inch) tall and the tail is 35cm (13 and a half inches) long. With the weigh his legs and feet are made and with the tail for support, Momo can stand by himself.

Apologies if I got anything wrong, I personally don't watch Avatar so everything was from pictures!

Here we go with the pattern:

Momo

DK weight yarn in white, brown and black.
G size (4.00mm) hook
Stuffing

Head
with white
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 7 - 10: SCx36 (36, 4 rounds)
Round 11: SCx10, 2SC, SCx25 (37)
Round 12: SCx10, 2SCx2, SCx25 (39)
Round 13: SCx10, 2SCx3, SCx26 (42)
Round 14: SCx10, SC2togx3, SCx26 (39)
Round 15: SCx10, SC2togx3, SCx23 (36)
Round 16: SCx36 (36)
Round 17: [SC2tog, SCx4]x6 (30)
Round 18: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Round 19: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)

Stuff firmly.

Round 20: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 21: SC2togx6 (6)

Face
with brown
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SCx3 SCx3]x2 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SC]x3, SCx3, [2SC, SC]x3, SCx3 (24)
Round 5: SCx6, Skip 1, 5xDC, Skip 1, SC, Skip 1, 5xDC, Skip 1, SCx11 (24)
Leave a long tail and end off. Don't sew on to the head as of yet.

Eye backs
make two
with black
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SS to make the ring nice and circular.
Don't pull the starting ring closed so that it is easier to pull the eye through.

Attach the black rings to the eyes and then secure to the face piece. Pull the loose tails through to make it neat. This way there's no need to sew the black rings to the face piece.

Centre round 1 of the face piece over the nose bump on the head and sew on.

Nose
Round 1: CH2, SCx3 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Leave a long tail to sew on and then use that same tail to embroider the mouth and the black eye embellishments.

Ears
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: SCx6 (6)
Round 3: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 4: SCx12 (12)
Round 5: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 6 - 7: SCx18 (18, 2 rounds)
Round 7: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 8 - 14: SCx24 (24, 7 rounds)
Round 15: LSx8, SCx16 (24)
Finish off with a long tail. Pull all the loops out onto the right side of the fabric.

Inner Ear
start with brown
Row 1: CH2, SCx2 in the 2nd stitch from the hook, chain and turn (2)
Row 2: 2SCx2, chain and turn (4)
Row 3: SCx4, change to orange, chain and turn (4)
Row 4: SCx4, chain and turn (4)
Row 5: [2SC, SC]x2, change to brown, chain and turn (6)
Row 6: SCx6, chain and turn (6)
Row 7: SCx6, change to orange, chain and turn (6)
Row 8 - 9: SCx6, chain and turn (6, 2 rows)
Row 10: SCx6, change to brown, chain and turn (6)
Row 11 - 12: SCx6, chain and turn (6)
On the last row, leave a long tail to sew this piece onto the inside of the ear (behind the loop stitches).

Then cut all the loop stitches and brush out the yarn there to fluff up the inner ear.

Sew the ears onto the head.

Body
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24)
Round 5 - 9: SCx24 (24, 5 rounds)
Round 10: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30)
Round 11 - 15: SCx30 (30, 5 rounds)
Round 16: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36)
Round 17 - 20: SCx36 (36, 4 rounds)
Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx4]x6 (30)
Round 22: SCx30 (30)
Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx3]x6 (24)
Round 24: SCx24 (24)
Round 25: [SC2tog, SCx2]x6 (18)
Round 26: [SC2tog, SC]x6 (12)
Round 27 - 29: SCx12 (12, 3 rounds)
Leave a long tail to sew to the body. Stuff firmly and sew to the body.

The neck piece will look a little skinny but that's okay. There will be a brown layer over the top shortly which will thicken that up.

Big Toes
Make 2
Chainx4
Row 1: Scx3 starting from 2nd chain from hook, chain and turn (3)
Round 2: SCx3, chain and turn (3)
Row 3: SCx3 (3)
Leave a long tail, sew row 3 to row 1 to turn this into a little sausage for the toe and then leave the tail to sew this to the foot.

Little Toes
Make 6
Chain x3
Row 1: SCx2 starting from 2nd chain from the hook, chain and turn (2)
Row 2: SCx2, chain and turn (2)
Row 3: SCx2 (2)
Leave a long tail, sew row 3 to row 1 to turn this into a little sausage for the toe and then leave the tail to sew this to the foot.

Feet and legs
white - Make 2
Round 1: CH2, SCx4 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (4)
Round 2: 2SCx4 (8)
Round 3: [2SCx2, SCx2]x2 (12)
Round 4: [2SC, SC]x2, SCx2, [2SC, SC]x2, SCx2 (16)
Round 5: SCx16 - front loop only (16)
Round 6: SCx16 - both loops and pick up the back loop from previous round (16)
Round 7: [SC2togx2, SC]x2, SCx10 (14)
Round 8: SC, SC2togx2, SCx10 (12)
Round 9 - 14: SCx12 (12, 6 rounds)
Round 15: [2SC, SC]x6 (18)
Round 16 - 21: SCx18 (18, 6 rounds) = 12345
Leave a long tail to sew the leg to the body.

Sew the toes to the foot and use the tail from the toes to tack down the front of the foot. This ensures the foot stays flat rather than puffed up.

Stuff the leg firmly and then sew to the body on an angle.

The following are for all the brown markings on the body. Some of the pieces may be a bit too big or small for your plush depending on how firm you stuffed it. You may need to adjust some stitches.

Round 12 - 14: SCx4. Chain and turn. (4, 3 rows)
Round 15: SC2togx2. Chain and turn. (2)
Round 16 - 17: SCx2. Chain and turn. (2, 2 rows)
Round 18: SC2tog
Leave a long tail and sew the triangle to the back of his head.

Row 4: SCx5. Chain and turn (5)
Row 5: SC2tog, SC, SC2tog. Chain and turn. (3)
Row 6 - xx: SCx3. Chain and turn.
Just keep crocheting until the marking is long enough to go down the back to where the tail starts. Leave a long tail and sew the piece on.

Side Markings

Row 1: Starting from second chain from hook, SCx6. Chain and turn (6)
Row 2 - 3: SCx6. Chain and turn. (6, 2 rows)

Row 28: SC2tog, SC, SC2tog. Chain and turn. (3)
Row 29 - 30: SCx3. Chain and turn. (3, 2 rows)
Row 31: SC3tog (1)
Leave a long tail and sew one onto each side of the body. The top part of the piece will overlap the back piece slightly to create one joined look.

The pins show where the side pieces were sewn onto.

Tail
Start with brown
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: 2SCx6 (12)
Round 3 - 6: SCx12 (12, 4 rounds) change to white
Round 7 - 10: SCx12 (12, 4 rounds) change to brown
Round 11 - 13: SCx12 (12, 3 rounds) change to white
Round 14 - 15: SCx12 (12, 3 rounds) change to brown
Round 16 - xx: SCx12  Keep crocheting until you have the length of tail you want. It may help to stuff as you go. Then sew the tail onto the end of the back brown patch.

Hands - Side 1
1 white, 1 brown
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 3: [Chx3, SCx2 (down the chain starting from the second loop from the hook), SC]x3, SC, Chx4, SCx3 (down the chain), SCx5

Hands - Side 2
1 white, 1 brown
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 3: [Chx3, SCx2 (down the chain starting from the second loop from the hook), SC]x3, SCx5, Chx4, SCx3 (down the chain), SS.

For each of the brown pieces, leave a long tail. Finish off with the white. Match the corresponding pieces together (white to brown) and sew the hands together so the right side is facing outwards. Keep the long tail as this will then be used to sew the hand pieces to the arms later.

This is the picture of the piece after I made it.

This is the piece after I sewed the thumb into position.

I make the whole arm with brown because it was easier than trying to make it two tone. Once the wings are sewn onto the arms it will give the two tone effect.

Foreams
make 2
brown
Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6)
Round 2: [2SC, SC]x3 (9)
Round 3 - 14: SCx9 (9, 12 rounds)

Round 8: [2SC, SCx2]x3 (12)
Round 9 - 12: SCx12 (12, 4 rounds)
Stuff firmly.
Round 13: SC2togx6 (6)
Leave a long tail to sew this arm piece ot the body. Then stuff the forearm and sew that piece to the upper arm at the angle you prefer. Finally, sew the hand piece onto the end of the forearm.

#778 Mimikyu

Hello all!! I've been mysteriously quiet lately but I've been very productive. Just lazy when it comes to actually resizing my images and putting these patterns up. I have a backlog of actual patterns to put up so I'll work through them slowly. I figure I would come back with one that a lot of people have been happy with. This Mimikyu is 30.5cm (12 inches) tall from base to the tip of its crooked ear. Features are needlefelted on and everything is sewn on and attached so there are no hard parts.  Head/Body Round 1: CH2, SCx6 in the 2nd stitch from the hook (6) Round 2: 2SCx6 (12) Round 3: [2SC, SC]x6 (18) Round 4: [2SC, SCx2]x6 (24) Round 5: [2SC, SCx3]x6 (30) Round 6: [2SC, SCx4]x6 (36) Round 7: [2SC, SCx5]x6 (42) Round 8: [2SC, SCx6]x6 (48) Round 9: [2SC, SCx7]x6 (54) Round 10: [2SC, SCx8]x6 (60) Round 11 - 20: SCx60 (60, 10 rounds) Round 21: [SC2tog, SCx8]x6 (54) Round 22: [SC2tog, SCx7]x6 (48) Round 23: [SC2tog, SCx6]x6 (42)

Clefairy (Pokedoll style)

Hello! I come with another pattern that isn't being added to the pokedex library as this one is done in pokedoll (cute and round) style rather than based on the original dex image. But this one is really quick and easy to work up! I made this with DK weight yarn and my usual 4.00 size hook. The plush works up to be 18cm (7 inches) tall and 21cm (about 8 1/2 inches) arm span!
